The Moon by Mohamed Konneh

Three boys were arguing one night about the moon.
The first boy said; ‘shiny thing you see up the sky is a planet’
The second boy said ‘no it is the sun that has transformed’
The third boy said ‘that is the moon you are seeing’
They argued for over an hour
Luckily they saw a well dressed man approaching them
The man was coming from Aberdeen road to where the boys were sitting at Lumley Beach.
The man was there to see his girlfriend.
The three boys walked up to the man and said together ‘good evening Sir’
The man gently replied; ‘good evening boys how are u?’
The third boy explained that they were arguing about something and would like the man to help them with the correct answer.
The man said ‘ok what is it?’
The third boy says; ‘That round and shiny thing up there you are seeing is what we were arguing about, I said it is the moon and my friends here are saying it’s a planet or the sun that has transformed’
‘Hmmmm’ the man cleared his throat and said; ‘look boys.. I have never been here before, I am only here to see my friend, but on my way here this shiny thing was following me. I strongly believe it belongs to us at Aberdeen road and when I return I will ask for its name.’
The three boys laughed and said; ‘thank you sir we are going to Aberdeen road to find the answer.’
Ha-ha.
